Year's Thoughts

Well, over all I think that this year has been a good one. I have defiantly learned a bit and will keep on learning as the years roll by. I have also accomplished many comic which there is a wall full at the studio to prove (which I am very pleased to display).
I hope that next year goes even better. I plan on getting my name out there so please start to recognize what I can do and what I can help them with. So keep in mind if you need any help in design think of Free Lunch Comics or Cow Tipping Design!

Happy New Year!

Ben to Long

Its been a really long time since I last posted anything, but things have been moving along very well. I have put out two more comic's.  "The Weird West" which was our shuffle book from the spring and "Bigger than Bigger" which was an 10th anniversary special for one of my friend's anniversary.

I am working on another shuffle for Raymond Hall which should be done soon and also I do have other projects that are coming down the pike - I will keep you up to date on them.

Finished Projects - Keep them Coming

I am been very busy since the last time I blogged. I have worked on ICONIC 2 and WORST CASE which were over 100 pages each. I worked on both comics and got them done in 3 weeks so my client could have them for the New York Comic Con coming up this month. I am very happy that I was able to get them done and off to the printers in time. I also finished Hell's Blood 3 which I did in one day - only about 32 pages but done a non the less its done.

The new project I am working on is a Junk Food book for Free Lunch Comics - I should have it done for the New York Comic Con and show - it is something we have not done in he past and we hope people enjoy it.

Working with Free Lunch

Since I have started working with Free Lunch I have realized that you can come home and want to still use your computer.  The projects I have been working on have been fun and it is a great feeling to see people smile as they see their hard work is being paid off by seeing the finished project. I hope that I can keep that going with my next project which I am in the middle of getting a comic approved and out to the printers and then who knows...

So far I think that I have been fitting in quite well with Matt and Steve - (I just hope they think that as well)

The next big this is our first ever Free Lunch Comic Fest! this Sunday. If you are interested in buying or perusing different comic items you are more then welcome to join us.

Rolling By

Things have been busy but very good, I have finished a logo design, book layout and almost done with another. The third book layout will be a great accomplishment for me - it will be my fist lettering job and I think I did a nice job. I will soon hope to share it with all of you. But in the mean time here is the logo design and book cover.

Since I have started working with Free Lunch I have learned a a great deal and want to learn more...

Working Hard

So I am almost done with a comic called I'Sherman - it was my first comic lettering job which I think it went good. The big test will be tomorrow when it will be reviewed. Wish me luck.
The other project I am working on is a logo called "Torn" - it has been a very interesting job - to be honest I did struggle with it since logos are not my strong area. I hope that as time goes on they will become easier.
We shell see.

Its Crazy!

Things have been crazy but good!

Since the conclusion of Tootin Hill, I have started lettering "I,Sherman" and started layout for a book called Cloud People. I have also been working on projects for the studio which have been coming along.

Since I have been working with the studio I have learned a great deal. With each project things become much easier which is a good thing.

Finifhed Another

Things have been going very well, I just finished putting another comic together. It was for Tootin' Hill - there was about 10 kids who created their own comic and I put it together for them. I could just imagine their faces when the saw the comic book put together - I hope that it made there day.
It is so nice to be putting smiles on people's faces.

Comics

This past weekend I went to my first comic show in Boston, and let me tell you it was very interesting. I couldn't believe on how much talent there was on one room.  Most of the time I walked around and took it all in, I did pick up two comics by Will Eisner - which people tell me I am doing things backwards. Starting from the best and working my way down - Why not start with the best? I read his comic "Contract with God" and thought it was a very good read and the artwork was amazing.

In the mean time I am about 90% done with my Tootin' Hill comic which I am happy with how it is coming out, I hope to have it to the printers by Thursday.

Monday Night Jam

Its time for the Monday Night Jam! For my first official Monday night it has been going very well. I have gotten a lot of work done so far - I just got a new job with the Tootin Hill School. It is similar to the Free Lunch Shuffle but it is elementary school children who drew the pages. Each child drew two to three pages and I have a job in putting them all together in a book. It should be a fun job to see each story.
Monday Night Jam will be a weekly tradition - if you are interesting in working on any of your projects or want to have a fun night stop by Free Lunch Comic Monday night 6 to 8:30.

Chocolate Festival!

Yesterday, Matt Ryan and myself were at the "First Annual Wine and Chocolate Festival". It a great time, we where there drawing commissions, caricatures and other things. We had a great day, a lot of people stopped by and where very interested in what we had to offer.
There were tuns of people there having so much fun tasting the wines and chocolates. For my first festival with Free Lunch I thought is was a great one to experience. All of the proceeds went to a fundraiser to build a skate park.

Going Good

Well, things have been going really great. Finished Hell's Blood and was able to get out the Comic Book Shuffle to the printers for next weekend. It seems like things are going much smoother.
What's coming up in the future - The Sentinels of Blood Island, Junk Food's and my famous tear sheet - I guess with all of the things that I have been working on I won't have a problem with filling it up.

First Blog Entery

Since I have been apart of  Free Lunch Studios I believe I am fitting in quite well. The guys haven't been to bad- they treat me like one of the fellas, which is sometimes very interesting. Who knew I would be working at a comic studio?!

Have been working a many exciting project, such as the Leprechaun gallery (painting a leprehaun), Hell's Blood, New England Pizza menu, and Comic Book Shuffle.
